Shasta star trails
Taken in anticipation of this month's theme, last month in the Mt. Shasta area. Wasn't easy to find a spot that had the vantage point I was going for, and this isn't quite what I envisioned. Star trails built up over just over 2 hours, in exposures of each 30s long. This allowed me to remove the single airplane that passed through the frame during that time. Very cold and windy!
Not sure what caused the purplish color centered around polaris. Doesn't look like airglow to me. If you know, please share!
