A fox has made a den in the mound of dirt the kits are standing on. The den is off the side of a back road and a fox has been using it for the past few years. When it snows in the winter we drive by to check to see if we can see signs that the den is still maintained. And when spring comes we frequently make the short detour to see if the kits are out.

This year there are 6. They aren't out often and we don't stay too long to avoid disturbing them too much but they do make for good subjects.

As they grow older they get much more skittish and are now very quick to retreat to the den. Hopefully one of the foxes will return to use the den next year and give some more opportunities for photographing the kits at play.
