Attended a Photoshop seminar over the weekend where we worked with the L, A and B channels to understand how the colors work in each. Then we did inversions on each channel and combined various inversions back with layer masks and blending modes. It's the kind of thing that can get overdone and end up either weird or muddy, but I was pretty happy with how this one turned out.
